Happy Earth Day!

I think that Earth Day is just about the most underrated holiday ever. So today I’d like to celebreate a little with Earth Day SVGs!

As I get older I find myself more and more concerned about the health of our earth. As spring approaches, my 4 year old is so excited to go back to the zoo, and the first thing she wants to see is the polar bears. It makes me so sad to think that someday all of the polar bears in the world might only be found in zoos.

Isn’t that heart wrenching?

I love our home. It sounds silly to say, but this little rock of ours holds a special place in my heart. I’ll bet it does for you, too. There is such variety to our earth: deserts, mountains, glaciers, rainforests, savannahs, canyons and so much more!

It’s amazing how each environment is beautiful for different reasons. They complement each other through variation. How could you appreciate the infinite vastness of standing on the beach and staring out at the ocean, without the contrast of forested mountains that seem to completely envelope you? How could we soak in the sunshine with true gratitude without having first been through the storm? That storm, though it brings darkness and even fear, also ushers in life-giving rain.

Isn’t it amazing how the earth itself is a metaphor for our lives? We have a lot to learn from our mother earth, and I know I can do a lot more to listen to her.

It’s all so beautiful, and we all have a role to play in keeping it that way. It seems like such a huge task. Trash, pollution, deforestation and so much more threaten our world. So what can I, one tiny little person in my tiny little corner of the world do about it?

Well, I can start where I am!

Maybe I can recycle more. Maybe I can have more reusable items in my home, like cloth towels instead of paper towels. Maybe I can plant a few trees, or use more environmentally friendly landscaping.

There’s something we can all improve on. So, this Earth Day, let’s do it! Just that one little thing that can help our world stay a beautiful place.
