3D SVGs are all the rage right now! Everything from unicorns to mandalas to fish are beautifully rendered to made layered images.

What are 3D SVGs?
3D SVGs create images by layering complementary images on top of each other.
Generally the bottom layer has the least detail, while successive layers add more and more elements to the overall picture.
Have a look at the image below:

You cut each of the images on the left with your Cricut or Silhouette. Then you layer them on top of each other, in ascending order in this case.
What you get at the end is the beautiful layered image on the right! Isn’t that gorgeous?
There are so many options when it comes to 3D SVGs! Color combinations are infinite.
Materials are fun to play with, too. Paper and foam are excellent choices!
With the Cricut Maker, even balsa wood is an intriguing option! Imagine the above image on wood with different color stains. Yes please!
