I promise that after a couple minutes of looking at these Gather SVGs, the word “gather” is going to look very strange to you!
Isn’t it weird how the English language is like that? Especially when compared to romantic languages like Italian and Spanish, whose rules for spelling are pretty straightforward, English is just plain strange! My almost-7 year old is just getting good at reading, but of course spelling is an entirely different beast.
It makes me think of the “I before E, except after C” rule. Suuuuure. And how “ea” usually makes a long E sound, except for words like “yeah” and “head”. How on earth was this language ever created? I feel pretty bad for people trying to learn English as a second language. Even native English speakers have a hard time with it!
Anyway, we’ll get off my tangent now.
I love the simplicity of these Gather SVGs. Especially now with the memories of social distancing even still fresh in my mind, I appreciate more than ever the value of being able to gather together. I’m an introvert, but even for me the last couple fo years have been difficult. I can’t even imagine being more extroverted, and the conflict between keeping loved ones safe versus taking care of your own mental health.
It’s been rough, for sure. And so, the concept of gathering is feeling extra special right now. Gathering for the holidays, obviously, but also just in general. Being together with the ones we love is something I hope our world never takes for granted again.
