I love this family SVG. Sappy, sentimental quotes get me every time.
Family is everything. There is nothing in this life more important that family.
I’ve had a lot of time recently to reflect on how much my family means to me.
Have you ever seen the show How I Met Your Mother? It’s about a guy telling his kids a (nine season long) story about how he met their mother.
Yeah, the title is a little on the nose.
But anyway, there’s this one episode where the main character, Ted, has a new girlfriend, and he really wants her to be in an important picture with the group.
His friends all complain about it, but then finally he explains.
He doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to have that “first picture” with his girlfriend. That first picture together that they could look back and remember them all being together as friends.
I kind of like that idea, and it’s stuck with me over the years.
Last November we had a family event. Smiley had her baby blessing! (Similar in importance to a christening).
Some family came into town for it, and we were going to have a get-together afterward.
My brother in law brought his pretty new girlfriend. (See what I did there?!)
Surprised us with her is more like it. None of us knew he was dating anyone, and here he shows up with his girlfriend to meet the whole family all at once!
We were all “Oooh, who is that?” and “Did you now he was dating anyone?!”
So afterward we took a bunch of pictures. When it came time to get a picture of everyone together, this sweet girl volunteered to be the one to take the pictures.
Not on my watch!
If my brother in law was showing her off to the whole family like that, then as far as I was concerned, she was family too. So I made her get in the pictures.
And I don’t regret it for a minute.
Then, not too long ago, they got engaged! YAY!
So now, we have that first really awkward family picture together. And I’m so glad that we have her there, hiding in the background, instead of hiding behind the camera.
As their wedding comes closer, I’ve thought about what it was like when T and I got married. Two families united because two people fell in love.
I got thrown into the deep end meeting a lot of T’s family just like my future sister in law did.
It was awkward, and I still don’t know all of his cousin’s names, but they instantly became my family. They care about me, even though they barely know me.
Because we’re family.
Now I’ll be getting a new sister, and my family will have grown just a little bit more.
Now for our family SVG!
With all that in mind, I’d like to share a sweet family SVG with you this week.

I love this family SVG. So it’s a little Christmassy with the snowflakes and holly and all that.
But hey, it’s almost Christmas in July, right?
I think this particular one would be great on a hand towel, or on a red and green print in the entryway, or, like the site suggests, even on a doormat!
Happy crafting!
