I have an old friend who has four boys, and she shared her baseball season schedule. It. Was. Nuts. The number of practices and games on her calendar was just beyond comprehension. And the way they overlapped? Forget about it! That family needed to be in like 10 places at once!

Of course, you don’t need to have baseball-playing kids in order to love baseball! I love that the professional baseball season overlaps with the 4th of July. After all, what’s more American than baseball? Apple pie, perhaps. But seriously, summer and baseball are just a match made in heaven. Just like these baseball flags!

It’s been too long since I’ve been to a game, and T and I have been looking forward to taking our girls to their first games for a long time. One of T’s and my first dates was to a local college baseball game, and I love that we have that memory together, and we can pass on fun times to our kids as well.

Don’t tell Rosie, but it’s always been a hope of mine that she’ll end up liking softball. She wore a baseball mitt for the first time last Thanksgiving, and she loved it so much her grandparents got her her very own mitt for her birthday. Rose got hit by the ball a couple of times, and that made her take a break for a bit. But, she also caught it a few times before that point, and while not very accurate at throwing yet, she was very enthusiastic about throwing the ball as hard as she could at Daddy. She got tennis balls to go with her new mitt instead of baseballs or softballs, and they seem to be working well for her abilities right now.
