It’s officially the most wonderful time of the year! And to celebrate, I’d like to share this extra-festive list of watercolor Christmas tree clipart sets!
My absolute favorite day of the year is when we put up our Christmas tree. Traditionally we do it the day after Thanksgiving.
First comes the Christmas tree. Ours happens to be an artificial tree with white lights. My kids would probably like the colored lights better, but this is the one thing I have just for me. The rest of the tree they get to decorate in whatever silly way they want. But those pristine white lights are just for me!
Sometimes we leave the tree with just the lights on it for a few days, then decorate with ornaments on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Other years, we put the ornaments on the same day.
Last year was a fun one for our family in terms of decorating our tree. Our family moved to an apartment two summers ago, and my wonderful in-laws were gracious enough to store some of our extra things at their place since we basically had no room for storage anymore. Things like Christmas decorations.
Well, when it came time to pull them all out, all we could find was the Christmas tree. No stockings, no ornaments, no nativities. The boxes were gone!
We weren’t too upset about it. We knew they were there, just hiding somewhere. So, we figured we’d just make our own ornaments this year! First came a wonderful paper chain garland, spearheaded by T, then came some paper snowflakes, then the girls and I made some simple wood bead ornaments.
All in all, I’m kind of glad it turned out the way it did. It was just the tree that year. My in-laws found the boxes in time to get the stockings, which was nice, but then when Christmas was over, there was zero stress about packing things up and digging all the stray ornaments out from under the couch and in the girls toybox and wherever else they may have been hiding.
