These watercolor precious stones were inspired by my aspiring rockhounds!
My family recently moved to an area with lots of fun places to explore nearby. There are canyons and dry riverbeds and mountains everywhere you look! And of course, with all the things to look at up above her, my little Lizzie looks down. At the rocks, specifically.
Lizzie has always loved rocks. When we go for walks, I constantly turn around to find her squatting near a pile of rocks . Or when we went to a public farm near our old home, she’d sit down to look through the gravel that made up the roads instead of looking at the animals. And now as we wander through gorgeous canyons, she can’t help but say “Look at this pretty crystal!”
And so this post chock full of watercolor gemstones and crystals is dedicated to my little rockhound. Don’t tell her, but this year for her birthday she’s getting a rock-digging kit filled with beautiful gemstones, a divided box to put her budding rock collection in, and a small denim satchel to put rocks in when we go hiking. I think she’ll be thrilled!
And I hope you’ll be thrilled with this selection of watercolor precious stones! There are crystals, raw gemstones, pretty pebbles, geodes, and even some fossils thrown in just for fun!
